Kristen Tamm

KRISTEN TAMM is an entrepreneur in the technology sector and, since 2019, the founder and CEO of Futuclass Ltd. Kristen believes that many of the problems in society can be solved with good education, but to ensure that students actually remember what has been taught to them, it is necessary to convey that knowledge in an engaging and interesting way. Therefore, Futuclass Ltd. develops virtual reality (VR) learning games about chemistry and physics that allow, while wearing special glasses, to learn by raising a ruckus in a safe and memorable way. Today, such learning games are used by thousands of students in nearly 35 Estonian schools. Kristen has also helped to establish the Estonian Virtual and Augmented Reality Association (EEVR) and has been the leader of the popular virtual reality center chain Futuruum. He has also had a career in the development and real estate sector.

Since Kristen is constantly surrounded by technology, in his spare time, he likes to go hiking in the mountains instead: for example, so far he has managed to explore the mountains of Kyrgyzstan, Kilimanjaro in Africa, and the Matterhorn peak in the Alps. According to Kristen, hiking in the mountains is ideal for digital detox and thinking more deeply about life. Furthermore, his love for alpinism motivated him to get involved in the field of adventure travel and he is also an instructor at Tartu University’s alpinism training programme. Yet, Kristen is also no stranger to other sports, having tested his limits at various sporting events. For example, he has walked 100km in 21 hours and participated in Võhandu’s marathon three times. The most important thing for Kristen, however, is to be a good father to his daughter and a citizen who values sustainability for the sake of the planet.
